Early 20th century antique stool. Thick-cut round wooden seat supported by four splayed legs with an iron stretcher and integrated hat rack: a notable feature in military stools of that era, with a central knob underneath the seat, designed to serve as a hat rack. The construction is characteristic of early 20th century French utility furniture, when iron reinforcement began appearing. Remnants of original black paint can be seen throughout. The stool is fully functional and sturdy. Perfect as a unique plant stand or brutalist accent piece in a rustic or organic modern interior.
